Weekend Weather Video Blog...

Friday, September 10, 2010

The new format on the blog will feature a video blog only for the weekends, and regular format with the video blog during the week. Times of adverse weather will also feature both, but the text block will be in short form.

I hope everyone will enjoy the new format. This format will allow me to keep the blog fresh even on the weekends. Again, hopefully down the road you will see more than just me when you watch the video blog. Thanks for logging on, and be sure to scroll down for the last text blog from Thursday night/Friday morning. If you have any questions please feel free to drop me an e-mail or leave some comments right here on the blog. See the first real video blog below.

Here are some bullet points.

-Standard Late Summer Weather Through the Forecast Period.

-Weak Cool Front Possible Late in the Weekend or Early Next Week, but won't Change our Weather Much.

-Lows in the Low-Mid 70s, Highs in the Low-Mid 90s through next Friday. Heat indices near 100 in the afternoon.

-Isolated storms possible each and every afternoon through Friday with the daily sea breeze pattern in effect, but the overall dry conditions will continue. We are nearly 15" in the hole for rainfall in the Lake Area for 2010.

-Dry football weather this weekend, shorts and T-Shirts should suffice for the crowds. Good luck to all teams!

-Tropics active with T.S. Igor in the Far Eastern Atlantic. Steady state strengthening expected through the next 5 days. Igor should become a hurricane late in the weekend or first of next week, and reach major hurricane status by Wednesday with category 3 winds around 115 mph. No threat to any landmasses at this time.

-Caribbean Tropical Wave continues to show signs of more organization. Potential for development through the weekend, and I expect this system to become our next Tropical Depression within a day or two. It seems poised to become Julia next week. It is too soon to say with any certainty where this one is heading, but given the blocking high flanking much of the Gulf Coast, a heading more towards Mexico seems likely. We shall see!

Here are some graphics.
